Custom Tube Fabrication
A/C Fabricating is experienced in a range of fabrication methods including tube coiling, mandrel bending, CNC, hydraulic, pneumatic, and manual bending techniques, end forming, brazing, and mechanical assemblies for tubing parts. These processes produce tubing with radii from 1/4” up to 6”, in a number of profiles including coils, return bends, flat bends, hairpins, serpentine, and crossover bends. Tubing is possible in round, square, and rectangle cross sections, in lengths of up to 32’, outside diameters from 1/16” to 4-1/8” and wall thicknesses from 0.011” to 0.25”. We specialize in tight radius and multi-radius bends from small 1 to 1 radius ratio's to large radius, with little or no tangent. The tightest tolerances of ± 0.002” can be held in certian manufacturing processes. Material options for tubular components include copper, brass, aluminum, stainless steel, and steel alloys.
Our end forming capabilities incorporate standard types as well as custom designed configurations, including closed, reduced, expanded, flanged, flared, double flared, beading, saddle beading, swage, and radius. Holes are formed in tubing utilizing various methods including punching, drilling, extruding, intruding, and notching, with special configurations possible. We employ the cost effective brazing process for metal joining, with capabilities to effectively join dissimilar metals including copper to brass and copper to steel. All manufactured tubing is subjected to comprehensive testing and inspections by our dedicated quality control department to ensure the highest levels of quality and integrity. Testing methods include helium leak, air leak, and hydrostatic methods.
Typical turnaround times for custom tubing is 3 to 4 weeks, with rush and emergency services available. Our specialty production shop handles prototype, low and medium volumes, from 1 to 100,000 units. We also feature an in house tool room, and 3D printing abilities for part approval. Ancillary services include design consultations, cost reduction analysis, specialty packaging, and internal tooling designing.
